CHRISTIAN ROMBACH
Christian Rombach has been representing the Mower Mission all over the world for
almost 18 years. In 1992 his sister Lilli, who lived in Australia, thought that
Tom's products would be perfect for Christian to sell in the hair salon that Christian
owned in South Africa at the time. She was right. The hair care products produced
by Tom's then company sold like warm bread.
Christian remembers, "It was the first time I had ever seen a product sell without
any promotion. In all my career as a stylist I had never found a product that made
such a difference for people compared to the others I'd used. And prior to this
time I had always used the top brands available to professional stylists."
That was cool.
From that moment on, Christian was inescapably "infected" with the philosophy and
integrity of the Mower Mission, and he sold the products for the remaining two years
that he lived in South Africa, where they are still sought after today. In 1994
he returned to his homeland of Freiburg, located in the Black Forest region of Germany,
to take over his parents' salon. Finally he was in a country where he could officially
become a Distributor for the Mower's company, signed up under his sister in Australia.
Christian was the first German Distributor in Europe and quickly became a network
marketing pioneer.
"My personal consumption was between $3,000 – $5,000 U.S. dollars per month," he
told us. "Just kidding! Actually that is how much I sold every month in my salon!
For the second time I was having huge success with the products. And now I had the
full line of products in my salon and the Germans loved them!"
In 1995 Tom's company ran a contest for which the grand prize was a trip to the
annual World Convention, being held that year in Oahu, Hawaii. For every 100 points
of volume, each Distributor would receive an entry for the grand prize drawing.
Christian decided that he was going to win that trip. He was so confident in his
ability to generate enough volume to "beat the odds" that he even booked his Hawaiian
holiday months in advance!
Christian smiles as he explains how the contest went, "The real competition was
with the English. And I had a big disadvantage: I sold lots of product every month,
but I was not able to sponsor anyone at that time, so without a downline, all of
my volume had to be from my personal purchases. My only chance was to sell even
more product, so I immediately purchased even more inventory. By the time of the
drawing I guess that 4 out of 5 tickets were probably mine!"
As you can imagine, Christian won the trip to Hawaii! He recalls, "It was wonderful
and at the same time strange. I arrived at the airport and a stretched limousine
picked me up from the airport and chauffeured me to the Hawaiian Princess Hotel,
where I stayed in a VIP room on the 37th floor. I remember thinking, ‘This must
be pretty close to Paradise!'"
The following day the convention started and it was Christian's first opportunity
to meet Tom Mower and gain his first impression of the people behind the incredible
products that had begun to change his life. "I was impressed and overwhelmed! Never
before had I met people like Tom and Tom Jr. They had such a great vision for the
future. I remember very well Tom's words on the stage: "If you want to become wealthy,
forget the money and start loving the people!" he told us.
Christian explains the powerful realization he had with his characteristic excitement,
"From then on I knew it: These people are crazy! I'm a German and I know how business
works, and this doesn't seem like a path to success to me! But gratefully I listened
more and started to understand what Tom was saying. If you only see the dollar signs
you will never build a huge, successful organization! Start helping people, support
them and assist them, and praise them for doing well! If you can put the needs of
your team members before your own, you will succeed! I understood—and from that
moment onward I knew that the Mower Mission would change the world, and my life!"
Many years later, Christian Rombach decided to again follow the Mission of SISEL
Founder Tom Mower Sr. In 2008 he chose to leave Tom's first company and join SISEL
International to again be a pioneer in Europe.
"And again, many people said to me, "Are you crazy? You are leaving a huge organization
and a huge bonus check!'" he tells us, laughing. "My answer was simple and followed
my personal motto: Only the best is good for me, my family, and my friends. This
is why I must join SISEL and Tom's Mission again."
"And almost a year later with all the positive things happening in Germany and Europe
with SISEL, I know that I've made the perfect decision to join this wonderful company.
I want to say ‘thank you' to Tom and Tom Jr. for this wonderful opportunity and
the chance to make a difference in people's lives!"
Yours,
Christian Rombach
